Now Hiring Weekend Walkers!

About Low Key Dog Walks

Dozens of guardians choose Low Key Dog Walks for their pup’s daily outing. They want a service they can trust, knowing that our team treats their dogs with love, patience and respect. Our team prides themselves on providing force-free neighbourhood-based walks. In your role, you’ll practice communicating with dogs and developing the skillset to uphold the Fear Free mission: “to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets by inspiring and educating the people who care for them.” You’ll actively work to set a new standard in the world of urban dog walking, while building lasting relationships in the great outdoors.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Physically fit and mentally alert, able to walk up to four dogs at a time (weekends are mostly Private walks & pairs)

  • Drive a dog-accessible vehicle & be licensed and insured in BC with a clean driver’s abstract (required).

  • Proof of a valid driver's licence and active insurance (required).

  • Growth-mentality & long-term commitment; hoping to progress rapidly and be confident working independently.

  • Trustworthy, reliable, friendly, and teachable.

  • Strong communication skills, a great connection with dogs, and the ability to read canine body language.

  • Interested in flexible weekend work between 8am to 4:30pm (2-hours minimum per day)

  • PT to start, with the potential to increase to weekdays. Seasonal positions available on a case-by-case basis.

  • DogSafe 101 First Aid course (50% reimbursed upon completion).

What You’ll Do:

  • Pick-up and drop-off dogs from their homes.

  • Walk one to four dogs on-leash, and when appropriate manage off-leash groups at local beaches, fields, trails and parks. This includes building a relationship with each dog to best suit their individual needs during service.

  • Transport dogs in your personal vehicle.

  • Reinforce basic manners, cues, leash walking, transport safety, and play behaviour.

  • Dress professionally: fanny pack, appropriate shoes, outerwear, branded gear.

  • Report any incidents directly to the Low Key Admin team.

  • Perform a quick safety check before every walk, ensuring all gear fits appropriately and reflects our Fear Free practices.

  • Utilize the operating software/app.

  • Attend all staff meetings and professional development workshops (10am-12pm on the first Tuesday of every month)

Compensation: $27.40/hour (after 90-day probation), plus mileage and tips.
We proudly pay a Living Wage! Additional commission opportunities also available.

Please provide us with your resume, availability and best times for a walk and talk interview.
